● When water is drawn from the tank, the air chamber compresses, releasing air and maintaining the pressure. As water is added back into the tank, the air chamber expands again.
Pump Activation
● Galvanized pressure tanks are often used in conjunction with pumps, such as well pumps or booster pumps. When the water level in the tank drops below a certain point, the pump automatically activates, drawing water from a source (e.g., a well) and pumping it into the tank.
● The pump continues to run until the water level in the tank reaches a set high-level point, at which point the pump shuts off.

● To prevent over-pressurization, the tank is equipped with a pressure relief valve. If the pressure inside the tank exceeds a safe limit, the valve opens, releasing excess pressure and preventing damage to the tank or the plumbing system.

● Galvanized steel tanks are generally corrosion-resistant due to the zinc coating, but it's important to monitor water quality to ensure it remains safe for consumption. Over time, corrosion or scaling can occur, affecting the integrity of the tank and water quality.

● The tank should also be drained and cleaned periodically to remove sediment and other contaminants.

● When installing a galvanized pressure tank, it's important to consider the tank's size, which should be matched to the water demand of the system. The tank should be located in a well-ventilated area and protected from freezing temperatures.
